Service Description

Your hearing and overall ear health play an important role in your wellbeing. Our standalone Ear Health & Hearing Check uses the advanced TympaHealth system to assess both your ear health and hearing in a single, convenient appointment. Whether you have noticed changes in your hearing, are experiencing ear discomfort, or simply want reassurance about your ear health, this non-invasive screening provides quick results and expert guidance. What happens during your appointment? High-Definition Ear Examination Using a high-definition digital otoscope, we will examine your ear canal and eardrum in detail. This allows us to identify concerns such as earwax build-up, irritation, fluid, or signs of infection. Ear Health Photography We capture high-resolution images of your ear canal and eardrum, which can be reviewed during your appointment and stored securely as part of your record. 4-Frequency Hearing Screening You will complete a simple hearing screening using specialist Tympa headphones. The test measures hearing across four key frequencies (500Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz and 4000Hz), which are important for everyday communication and speech understanding. Immediate Results & Advice Once testing is complete, we will explain your results, discuss any findings, and answer any questions you may have about your ear health and hearing. Why choose an Ear Health & Hearing Check? Clear Understanding of Your Ear Health Gain insight into the condition of your ears and hearing, even if you are not currently experiencing symptoms. Track Changes Over Time Your images and hearing screening results are stored securely, making it easier to compare results in future appointments if needed. Additional Clinical Review If anything unusual is identified, your images can be securely reviewed through the Tympa platform to support further clinical assessment where appropriate. Who is this service for? This service may be suitable if you: - Feel your hearing has become muffled or changed. - Experience ear discomfort, itchiness or a feeling of fullness. - Want reassurance about your ear health. - Would like a baseline hearing and ear health check. Please note: If a significant earwax blockage is identified during your appointment, we can discuss booking or upgrading to one of our earwax removal services, including microsuction where appropriate.
