Shingles vaccine for over 50s
What is shingles?
Shingles is a skin disease that is a reactivation of the chicken pox virus. It manifests as a burning sensation in the skin and a rash of fluid-filled blisters that can burst and become sores.
Shingles can be very painful for those who suffer from it, and it becomes more common as you age. You can develop shingles more than once, and it is often worse the older you are. Some people still suffer with pain from shingles for years after it has passed.
People aged 70 - 79 can get the vaccine for free on the NHS, but for those outside their 70s, you can get the vaccine privately and protect yourself sooner if you are aged 50 and older.

You only need to be vaccinated once, and the shingles vaccine (Zostervax) is considered very safe.
Why All Health Matters?

Our friendly team are experienced in giving the shingles vaccination, and we have been approved by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide this service.
You can have your shingles vaccine in Canterbury or London in our private clinics.
About Occupational Vaccines & Flu
An employer has a ‘Duty of Care’ to eliminate or minimise known risks to health. Vaccination against avoidable diseases such as Hepatitis B is safe and effective, and helps employers fulfil this duty where employees are exposed to harmful pathogens.
The Flu vaccine reduces the chances of employees becoming ill and needing time off work, and if they do still get the flu (no vaccine is 100% effective) then their symptoms may be less severe. Similarly, by providing even just some employees with immunity, it reduces the number of opportunities for the virus to spread. This means less sickness over all, both at work and at home.
